Description:
The body is elongated, with the posterior region narrower than the anterior. It features three pairs of head organs and two pairs of eyespots at the front. There are seven pairs of three different types of marginal hooks at the haptoral end. Two pairs of unequal anchors are present, with the dorsal pair larger than the ventral pair. The anchors are robust. The dorsal connective bar is thick, stick-like, and slightly curved. The copulatory complex is tube-like and coil-shaped, with an oval initial part containing the prostate glands.
Habitat & Distribution in Bangladesh:
The species is an obligate parasite in freshwater gars or kakila fish, attaching in the gill filaments of its host. It is distributed throughout Bangladesh.
