The body surface of Trochospongilla latouchiana is uneven, forming shallow cushions. The oscula are conspicuous but few in number, and the consistency of the sponge is highly rigid, often brittle. The presence of both megascleres and gemmoscleres is noted, while gemmules lack microscleres. The megascleres are cylindrical, feebly curved or straight, with spicules having pointed ends that are smooth. Their dimensions range from 0.22-0.30 mm in length and 12-15 µm in width. Gemmoscleres are birotulates, minute in size, with a slender shaft and unequal rotules. The upper rotules are recurved, forming a bow-like structure. The length and thickness of the shafts range from 13-18 µm and 30-40 µm, respectively. Gemmules are small in size, numerous, and scattered throughout the body. The pneumatic layer is granulated and thin, with gemmoscleres embedded in a single layer within the pneumatic layer. The foramen tube is short, conical, and porous, with a gemmule diameter ranging from 0.02-0.18 mm. The coloration is described as brownish.
