Asian Waterbird is smaller and more delicate than the Common Greenshank, with finer bills and longer legs. Their legs are greenish or yellowish in color. In the non-breeding season, they have a white foreneck and underparts with gray upperparts. During breeding plumage, their upperparts are blotched and barred, while the foreneck and breast are streaked. Juveniles have blackish, streaked upperparts.
