Description:
Fin formula: D XVII-XVIII 6-9; A XVIII-XXII 11-13; P 9. It has compressed body. Small and protractile mouth is present. Dorsal spine is posteriorly increasing. Caudal fin slightly emarginated. Dorsal soft and pointed. A filiform ray present at the pelvics which is extended to the caudal. Lateral line not complete that is interrupted and sometimes absent.
Habitat & Distribution in Bangladesh:
Widely distributed in pools, ditches, inundated fields, ponds and beels.
