It differs from other species in its genus in several key ways: i) it has two maxillary endites, each bearing two setae; ii) its mandibular endopod consists of two segments; iii) the third endopodal segment of its first swimming leg (P1 enp-3) includes one pinnate claw, a prominent geniculate spine, and a small seta; and iv) the female possesses two setae on the sixth swimming leg (P6).
