Description:
It is a small to medium-sized flukes with an elongated, cylindrical, dorsoventrally flattened body and a smooth cuticle. The head has four pairs of head organs, and the anterior end is slightly narrower, with two pairs of eyespots, the posterior ones being larger. The pharynx, located behind the eyespots, is rounded. Vitellaria extend from the posterior end of the pharynx through the peduncle region. The opisthaptor contains two pairs of dorsal and ventral anchors.
Habitat & Distribution in Bangladesh:
It is an obligate parasite of pangasiid catfish. It reaches sexual maturity within the gill filaments of the fish. It is widely distributed in Bangladesh.
