Description:
It is small to moderate in size with two pairs of eyespots. The hooks are of larval type, small, with a protruding heel on each hooklet. Dorsal anchors have a powerful sabre-like point and a small inner root. The dorsal bar is simple, a chitinoid stick without widening or weakly widened in its middle part. Ventral anchors have small roots and a smoothly recurved point. The ventral connective bar is V-shaped and curved. The seminal vesicle is a thin elongated blind sac. The copulatory tube has a small initial part, and the accessory piece is stick-like with an expanded distal end.
Habitat & Distribution in Bangladesh:
The species is an obligate parasite of the freshwater shark, Wallago attu. It reaches sexual maturity in the gill filments of the host. It is distributed throughout Bangladesh.
