Description:
The rostrum is elongated and curves upward, measuring 4.2 times shorter than the total length. The upper margin of the rostrum has 7 teeth, while the lower margin has 6 teeth, with 2 to 3 teeth of the upper margin located behind the orbit. The body color is a deep blackish hue. The second pair of limbs is significantly larger and thicker than the first pair, with the carpus being longer than the chela and 1.5 times longer than the merus. The chela is slightly longer than the merus.
Habitat & Distribution in Bangladesh:
Found in oceans, estuaries and rivers. But can be found mainly in fresh water habitats as they are mostly freshwater species.
