The axial area is slender and linear, while the central area is small and shaped like a rhombus. Although challenging to discern under a light microscope, there are short spines along the margins. The valves are elongated, with a bulging center and tips that are either capitate or slightly capitate. Typically, the striae run parallel, although in the middle bulge, they might show slight radiating patterns. The girdle bands are sealed and possess substantial septa.
