The organism forms spherical or ellipsoidal colonies consisting of 2-50 ovoid individuals arranged radially. Each individual is typically covered by short bristles, with two lateral chromatophores and no stigma. Asexual reproduction of individuals occurs through longitudinal division, while colony reproduction happens by bipartition. Cysts are spherical in shape. This species is found in freshwater environments.
