Description:
Stylaria fossularis is a small worm. Its body appears pale whitish with a transparent body wall and delicate short hairs, particularly concentrated on the prostomium. The eyes are crescentic, blackish purple in color, situated at the base of the prostomium on either side of the mouth. This species does not possess gills. The number of body segments varies from 14 to 64, followed by some undifferentiated posterior segments. It features a proboscis, which protrudes from the tip of the pointed prostomium, with the tip narrower than the base.The hairs are long, straight, and sharply pointed,.The length of the hairs decreases towards the posterior segments. Needles are anodulate, pointed, and straight.

Commonly found in the fish pond, rivers, lakes, haors, and other fresh waterbodies of Bangladesh
