Description:
his small and often rather unobtrusive duck inhabits wetlands with reedy and other fringing vegetation. The male is quite distinctive, featuring a prominent white eyebrow on a dark brown head, pale gray flanks, and a striking pale gray forewing visible in flight. The female is similar to the female Green-winged Teal but can be distinguished by a more contrasting head pattern: she has a paler eyebrow, a darker eyestripe, and an unstreaked whitish throat.
