Description:
Fin formula: D 1/8; P₁ 1/10-11; P₂ 1/6; A 1/5. Ventral profile is flat with ached dorsal profile. Head is compressed. Crescentic mouth is present that is surrounded by thick lips. Lower lip slightly notched at the middle. Barbels are 3 pairs such as: 2 rostral and 1 maxillary pairs. Pectoral fins are placed horizontally and shorter than head. Caudal fin is forked. Body color: yellowish with transverse dark bands. The bands are continuous over back and those in front of the dorsal are sometimes broken. A conspicuous dark band at the base of the caudal.
Habitat & Distribution in Bangladesh:
Occurs in shallow and swift clear streams with pebbly bottom.
