Description:
Scenedesmus is a small colonial green alga where cells are arranged in a flat plate formation. Typically, colonies consist of two or four cells, though they can occasionally include 8, 16, or even rarely 32 cells, and sometimes may be unicellular. The cells themselves are generally cylindrical but can also be more crescent-shaped, oval, or spindle-like.
