Description:
This organisms are dark or nearly black in coloration. Their heads curve forward, forming an almost continuous line from the dorsal edge of the carapace. The forehead is protected by an upturned horn. They possess a rostrum, a cervical cavity, and abdominal claws equipped with pectin. The ventral end of the carapace terminates behind a robust spine. Reproduction occurs through cyclic parthenogenesis.
Habitat & Distribution in Bangladesh:
Commonly found in the rivers, lakes, haors, and other fresh waterbodies of Bangladesh.
