Description:
Fin formula: D1. 7 (I/6); D2. 0; A. 12-13 (4-5/9); P. I/10; V. 8; C. 19. It has elongated body with depressed head. Nostril wide apart. Mouth transverse with 3 pairs of berbels. It has straight lateral line with strong dorsal spine. Pectoral spine shorter than dorsal spine. Caudal fin is forked. Body color green or greenish above and flanks, sometimes brownish/blackish; dull white below.
Habitat & Distribution in Bangladesh:
Inhabits muddy to clear water in rivers and estuaries.
