Description:
The male dragonfly has a face that is bright ochreous and blood red, with reddish-brown eyes above and scarlet red below. Its thorax is reddish brown, either with a dorsal yellow stripe or without any markings. The legs are dark reddish brown, and the wings feature a transparent amber-yellow spot at the base of both the fore and hind wings, with light ochreous wing spots. The abdomen is a brilliant scarlet red. Similarly, the female dragonfly is rusty brown and possesses a mid-dorsal yellow stripe extending from the base of the head to the 4th segment of the abdomen. The wings resemble those of the male, but the basal markings are less extensive. Both males and females exhibit these characteristics.
Habitat & Distribution in Bangladesh:
Found in marshes, and weedy ponds. Females are usually found perched on riparian vegetation.

They are semi aquatic. Larvae are hatched in water. But they fly away when they got matured.
