Classification:
Kingdom: Animalia

Description:
These medium-sized nematodes have finely transversely striated cuticles. Their oral aperture is hexagonal to oval, surrounded by four submedian sublabia and a pair of lateral amphids. The prostom is barrel-shaped with distinct basal teeth and an anterior margin armed internally with eight fairly large, forwardly directed teeth. The vestibule is long, with small, bifurcate deirids situated at the posterior half. The glandular oesophagus is 8–15 times longer than the muscular oesophagus, occupying the entire width of the body. The tail of both sexes is conical with a truncated tip, appearing to have two minute posteriorly oriented spikes, but actually forming a ring of elevated cuticle with a sharp edge and bearing about three thickenings. A small terminal mucron with many minute spine-like projections arises from the middle of this cuticular ring.
