Description:
Lymnaeid snails belonging to the Radix genus are characterized by their freshwater habitat, ranging in size from small to large with shells varying in shape from oval to ear-shaped. These snails exhibit distinctive features such as a prominent aperture and large triangular tentacles. The shells of Radix species are intricately patterned with fine axial lamellae, and their prostates typically have a singular, substantial fold. Many of these snail species display a notable solid black band running parallel to the mantle collar, accompanied by the presence of a uterine appendix.
Habitat & Distribution in Bangladesh:
The snails occur in stagnant water body and irrigated paddy fields. It attaches to base of paddy and other aquatic plants. Abundant in Sylhet District
