Description:
It is a small worm with eyes represented by pigment granules dispersed in the anterior part of the body. The pharynx is flask-shaped, and the opisthaptor is distinct. Marginal hooks feature a loop, heel, and point. The copulatory organ is simple, consisting of a copulatory duct and an accessory piece. The copulatory duct is sickle-shaped, wider at the initial part and narrower at the end.
Habitat & Distribution in Bangladesh:
The species parasitizes the gills, skin, or fins of fish, primarily infesting freshwater clariid catfish. It follows a direct life cycle and reaches sexual maturity in the gill filaments. It is distributed widely throughout Bangladesh.
