Description:
The body is cylindrical with compression observed only at the extreme tip of the tail. The anterior nostril is tubular, while the posterior is positioned along the lower edge of the lip. The teeth are granular to molariform, arranged in multiserial bands in the jaws and vomer, with sharper characteristics in the jaws. There are 152–163 vertebrae. The coloration is a consistent brownish-olive on the upper side and light yellow on the lower side. The dorsal fin exhibits a narrow black edge.
Habitat & Distribution in Bangladesh:
Occurs in lagoons and estuaries, entering freshwater often in tidal channels.
