Description:
The valves of this organism are elongated with parallel sides and wide, rounded ends. They have a small, asymmetric central area that is larger on the primary side of the valve. The axial area is linear, narrowing towards the ends, and occupies less than one-third of the valve’s width.

Common in lakes, ponds, and slow-flowing streams.
