Description:
The shell is sizable and has an oval or semi-spherical shape with a deeply impressed and grooved suture. There is a noticeable ridge on the outer surface of the whorls. The spire is raised, prominent, and cone-shaped. In terms of color, the shell is typically green or olive-brown, as described by Subba Rao in 1989.
Habitat & Distribution in Bangladesh:
Abundant in ponds, tanks and submerged rice fields, but may also be found in freshwater streams, rivers and even in brackish waters of low salinity in the rainy season. But as the ponds or rice fields dry up, the animal burrows into the moist soil underneath for aestivation. Abundant in almost all the districts of Bangladesh.
