Description:
The shell is of moderate size, sinistral, and has an ovate shape with a thick and sharply pointed apex. The spire is sharp and pointed, and the suture is oblique. The body whorl is large, rounded, and exhibits a smooth sculpture. The aperture is ovate. The shell is transparent but has some thickness. Its color varies and can be pale green or brown, with tinges of black, gray, green, or red. The apex’s color is also variable, ranging from red or black to resembling the overall shell color.
Habitat & Distribution in Bangladesh:
The species prefers polluted water, found irrigation channel, ditches, dams and streams in or near town. Generally, it is found in abundance in shallow water areas with algal mats or where there is moderate amount of organic debris or where the water is more greenish. Abundant in Comilla, Dhaka, Maulvibazar and Rajshahi District.
