Description:
The carapace is olive or brown, adorned with spots in lighter yellow or darker shades, featuring a lighter outer edge. The shell is depressed, elongated in young individuals, and oval in adults. The head is small, flattened dorsally, with an extremely short and rounded snout and proboscis. The plastron is whitish.
Habitat & Distribution in Bangladesh:
It resides in coastal and estuarine regions as well as freshwater environments such as lakes, streams, and large river systems.In Bangladesh, this turtle is found in the large rivers, including those within the Sundarbans.
