Description:
Cell shapes are either pyroid or broadly elliptical and lack compression. They consist of siliceous and rectangular plates that are arranged in longitudinal rows with scarcely overlapping borders. These plates form a counter-clockwise spiral, culminating in a single pentagonal scale at the aboral pole.
