Description:
The shell is thick and exhibits an elliptical to oval shape with equilateral symmetry. It is distinctly sculptured with oblique radiating ridges, and the posterior ridge is more prominent. The periostracum is smooth, and the umbones are more inflated. The ventral margin is convex, and a well-marked lunule is present. The cardinal teeth are strong, ventrally striated, and not lamellar. The periostracum has a yellowish-black, shiny appearance. The interior is pinkish-white and highly shiny. On average, the shell measures about 46 mm in length, 30 mm in height, and 22 mm in thickness.
Habitat & Distribution in Bangladesh:
The specimens found in aquatic habitat viz. Lakes, Rivers and streams. Abundant in Sylhet district.
