Description:
Fin formula: D 2/9; P1 10; P2 6; A 2/5. It has cylindrical body with depressed head. Mouth small and semicircular. Snout obtuse with compressed tail. Three pairs of barbels are present: 2 rostral and 1 maxillary pairs. Eye situated at the middle of the head touching the dorsal margin. Caudal is weakly notched. A dark lateral streak occurs that is crossed by 10-12 short transverse bars. 12-15 dark cross bands descend from the back to the sides for a short distance. Caudal with 5 rows of spots. Base of the caudal is black.
Habitat & Distribution in Bangladesh:
Found in a variety of streams from river mainstreams to small brooks.
