Description:
It has complete lateral line. Axillary pelvic lobe is not present. Body color: alternating large and small dark spots along lateral line; pattern of dark specks on upper side between small dorsal saddles; 4-5 dark bands on cauda fin of adult. Usually it has11 dorsal-fin rays; and 13 pectoral-fin rays.
Habitat & Distribution in Bangladesh:
Available in ponds, pools, ditches and floodplains throughout Bangladesh.
