Description:
This fish has two stiff spines and seven soft rays in its dorsal fin, and two spines followed by eight soft rays in its anal fin. Its upper and lower jaws are about the same size at the front. The dorsal fin sits halfway between the front edge of the eye and the base of the tail. The outer four to six rays of its pectoral fins are strong. There are about seven rows of scales between the sensory line on its side and the base of its pelvic fin. It has 25 scales in front of its dorsal fin. Along its upper back, there are roughly 13 bluish spots. Faint stripes, about 12 in number, run down its back towards the sensory line. Finally, a dark stripe stretches across the upper third of its dorsal fin.
Habitat & Distribution in Bangladesh:
Occur in rivers and streams of Dinajpur.
