Description:
This plant is a perennial that grows along the edges of water bodies. It has rounded, upward-cupped, waxy green leaves that sit on long petioles attached to the middle of the leaf underside. In summer, it produces large, fragrant, pink or white flowers on stiff stems above the foliage. After flowering, nut-like fruits develop, embedded in the flat surface of a turbinate structure.

This plant is frequently encountered in freshwater lakes, ponds, beels, and haors throughout Bangladesh.
