Description:
A submerged dioecious herb with slender, ascending stems. The leaves are cauline, occasionally clustered, arranged in two opposite rows, linear-lanceolate in shape, flat, with parallel veins. Leaf sheaths are amplexicaul at the base, and both margins and apices bear unicellular spines. The inflorescences are axillary and clustered.

This herb is found in ponds, lakes, rivers, and ditches, and it is widespread across Bangladesh.
