Navicula cuspidata is a diatom with lanceolate or elliptical valves featuring broadly rounded ends. Its valves bear parallel, longitudinal striae and a central nodule (raphe). Typically ranging from 10 to 80 micrometers in length, this species inhabits diverse aquatic environments, both freshwater and marine.

Grow in freshwater habitats.
