Description:
Fin formula: D I 7; A ii-iii 9-10; P I 8; V i 5. Body is elongated and slightly compressed. Head depressed. and mouth terminal. Dorsal spine long upto head keep out the head. Pectoral spine with 10 to13 denticulations. 4-5 longitudinal bands along sides and adipose fin is short. Upper lobe of caudal fin longer. Body color yellow or brown with a dark spot on shoulder. Barbels are 4 pairs in total.
Habitat & Distribution in Bangladesh:
Inhabit rivers and ponds in plains and submontane regions in flowing and standing waters.
