Description:
Mucidosphaerium pulchellum is a small green alga with spherical or slightly ovoid cells, each 5 to 10 micrometers in diameter, enclosed in a mucilaginous sheath. It contains chloroplasts for photosynthesis and often forms colonies within a mucilaginous matrix. Found in freshwater environments, it contributes to primary production and supports aquatic food webs.
