Description:
Monogononts primarily feed as microphagous or raptorial organisms, although a small number are parasitic. Their corona may be altered into broad-to-narrow disks, ear-like lobes, or take on a vase-shaped form with reduced ciliation. They often possess long setae which aid in capturing prey.
