Description:
It is moderate in size. The hooks have a distinctly separated handle and pivot, with a protruding finger-like “heel.” Anchors lack roots. Dorsal anchors have an articulated finger-like protuberance on the inner side of the base, with patches featuring thin processes at the end. The dorsal connective bar is straight, with clearly marked articulated heads that connect with the finger-like protuberances of the anchors. Ventral anchors have a smoothly curved point. The copulatory complex consists of a tube and an accessory piece.
Habitat & Distribution in Bangladesh:
It is host specific and an obligate parasite in freshwater fishes, infesting in the gill filaments of its host. It is distributed throughout Bangladesh as a gill parasite of catfishes.
