Description:
The insect has an oval body, measuring 3 millimeters in size. The head is ochraceous, and the eyes are black, with the interocular space being longer than the head itself. The pronotum is castaneous brown and features a transverse black line. The scutellum is dark brownish in color. When the hemelytra (forewings) are in a folded position, they create a yellowish band around the scutellum. The hemelytra have an olivaceous brown hue with numerous small, scattered black spots. The body underneath and the legs are pale ochraceous. The lateral margins of the hemelytra are moderately convexly rounded.
Habitat & Distribution in Bangladesh:
Very common in shallow water of the pond, dighi and swamp from Dhaka city (Bangladesh). inhabit standing waters, especially at the bottoms of shallow ponds and lakes, or in vegetation bordering fl owing water bodies.
