Description:
The body length ranges from 2.4 to 3.3. The pronotum is slightly shorter than the median head length. The dorsum generally appears in shades of grey. The pronotum is marked with a transverse brown stripe, occasionally interrupted in the middle. The hemelytron exhibits numerous dark brown spots, and the embolium shows three dark spots. In males, the fore femur, palar claw, median lobe of sternite VII, and free lobe match the diagnostic features of the subgenus. The fore tibia has two spines ventrodistally. The left paramere has a stout shaft with a knoblike apex, and the basal lobe is tongue-shaped, pointing towards the apex of the paramere. The right paramere features a relatively slender shaft, curved at the distal third, slightly broadening, and then tapering towards a narrowly rounded apex.
Habitat & Distribution in Bangladesh:
Pygmy water boatmen tend to populate stagnant waters or slow-moving streams with aquatic vegetation, sometimes in large numbers.
