Description:
It is a small-sized frog with a distinct pattern on its back, which can range from bright pink to various shades of brown. There is a dark streak extending from behind the eye to the shoulder, and the limbs are crossbarred. The ventral surface is cream-colored. The head is broader than long, with an obtusely pointed snout that slightly protrudes beyond the lower jaw. The nostrils are closer to the tip of the snout than to the eyes. The forelimbs are moderately long and slender, with free fingers.The tips of the fingers are swollen. The hindlimbs are comparatively robust compared to the forelimbs, and the webbing is poorly developed.
Habitat & Distribution in Bangladesh:
It inhabits freshwater wetlands, ponds, paddy fields, ditches, canals etc. It is distributed widely throughout Bangladesh.
