Description:
Merismopedia tenuissima consists of flattened, free-living, plate-like colonies that are generally rectangular in shape. These colonies are composed of a single layer of cells arranged in either loose or dense perpendicular rows. They are surrounded by a fine, colorless mucilage that is typically faint and diffuse at the edges.
