The rostrum of this species does not extend to the level of the distal end of the antennal scale, and its dorsal margin is convex. The rostral formula is 13-14/2 with 2-3 post-orbitals, and the branchiostegal suture does not extend posteriorly beyond the hepatic spine. The telson has a posterior apex that does not overreach the posterolateral spines. The antennal scale exhibits a concave lateral margin. The first pereopod features a chela that is half as long as the carpus. The second pereopods are unequal in length and differ in form, with the major second pereopod having a compressed palm, fingers densely pubescent at their extreme proximal ends, dentate on opposable margins, and gaping. In large males, the palm is completely covered in dense pubescence, and the chela is 2.75-3.50 times as long as the carpus, with the palm 1.33-2 times as long as the carpus. The carpus ranges from 4/5 to nearly as long as the merus and features a distinct longitudinal groove. The minor second pereopod has fingers 1.25-1.50 times as long as the palm. The third pereopod does not overreach the antennal scale, and the exopod of the uropod has a movable accessory spine.
