The rostrum in this species is relatively long, reaching approximately to the end of the antennal scale, and its tip is slightly upcurved. The basal part of the dorsal margin is rather high and crest-like, armed with 7 to 11 teeth, while the distal part of the dorsal margin (upper edge) is toothless, except for 1 or 2 (occasionally up to 4) subdistal teeth. The ventral margin has 4 to 7, typically 6, teeth. The hepatic spine is positioned at a lower level than the antennal spine. The telson gradually tapers to a sharp point and lacks a posterior margin. In adult males, the carapace has spinules anteriorly, and the second pair of pereiopods exhibits a very short pubescence, especially noticeable on the movable finger except at its tip. The carpus is shorter than the propodus. In terms of coloration, the body and the anterior two pairs of pereiopods (chelipeds) are dark grey, with a paler ventral side. The antennae and inner flagella of antennules appear grey, while the outer flagella have a brownish hue. The maximum total length is 230 mm for males and 200 mm for females.
