The rostrum of this species is nearly straight and relatively short, featuring a prominent keel on its side, and its tip extends slightly beyond the antennular peduncle. The upper edge (dorsal margin) of the rostrum has 6 to 8 teeth, while the lower edge (ventral margin) has 3 to 4 teeth. The hepatic spine is positioned at a lower level than the antennal spine. The posterior margin of the telson is distinct. In adult males, the second pair of pereiopods is very long and heavy, adorned with numerous tiny tubercles. The carpus is shorter than the propodus and much longer than the merus. In terms of coloration, the species is translucent, with the carapace and abdomen exhibiting a reddish-brown hue on a greyish ground color. The largest legs of the male are relatively uniformly dark reddish-brown, and the tips of the pereiopods and the distal half of the uropods are dark brownish. Typically, males are larger than females, with a maximum total length of about 150 mm and a body length of around 120 mm.
