Description:
The body is very long and slightly tapers anteriorly. The body proper is divided into cortex and medulla by two layers of longitudinal muscles. The scolex is undifferentiated, smooth, and unarmed, with a bluntly tapering extremity. Well-developed gland cells are present, with a distinct zone of dense aggregation, which provides a clue for distinguishing and delimiting the scolex region from the neck.
Habitat & Distribution in Bangladesh:
It is an obligate parasite residing in the intestines of siluroid catfishes such as Clarius batrachus. It is found throughout Bangladesh.
