Description:
This frog is medium-sized with a short, thick body and moderately long legs. The head is short and broad, while the snout is short and rounded. The skin is smooth, lacking any tubercles. Eyes are relatively large and prominent, and the tympanum is small, faintly visible, and about half the diameter of the eye. The tongue is rather small, heart-shaped, and notched at the rear. Fingers are entirely free, with the first and second fingers nearly equal in length and about half the length of the third finger. The fourth finger is approximately one-third the length of the third finger.
Habitat & Distribution in Bangladesh:
It inhabits freshwater wetlands, paddy fields, ditches, canals etc. In Bangladesh, it is found in the Lawachara national park, Kaptai national park and Sangu wildlif sanctuary.
