Description:
Limnodrilus hoffmeisteri is a relatively larger worm, pale reddish-brown in color, with a bluntly conical prostomium and no eyes. Dorsal setae start at segment II, with 2-3 bifid setae per bundle, where the distal prong is thinner and longer. Ventral setae also begin at segment II, with 4-6 bifid setae per bundle, where the distal prong is thinner but equal in length to the proximal prong. Penis sheaths, found in segments X or XI, are 1-14 times longer than wide, slightly bent, with a hood-like structure. The first pair of nephridia appears in segment VII or VIII. Hair setae are absent.
