Description:
Ligula intestinalis has a body that is triangular and pointed, with a poorly developed scolex. The bothria are shallow and not much more than shallow grooves. The adult strobila, which contains segmented genitalia, appears externally unsegmented and is wrinkled transversely.
Habitat & Distribution in Bangladesh:
It is a parasite that usually infects cyprinid fishes. It is distributed throughout Bangladesh.
