Description:
The distinctive feature of the Broad-bodied Chaser is its wide and flattened body, giving the dragonfly a ‘plump’ appearance. In males, the body is powder-blue with yellow spots along the sides and a dark thorax, while females exhibit a greenish-brown coloration. Amidst several medium-sized, light blue dragonflies that might cause confusion, the Broad-bodied Chaser can be identified by its unique combination of a broad, blue body and chocolate-brown eyes.
Habitat & Distribution in Bangladesh:
It favours shallow still water habitats and is found in well-vegetated and still ponds, including garden and farm ponds.
