Description:
The insect has an ovate body, with a grayish coloration on the dorsal side and light brown on the ventral side. The head, pronotum, and scutellum are dark brownish-ochraceous dorsally, while ventrally they appear paler. The eyes are longer than their width, and the rostrum, or the mouthpart, is stout and composed of three segments. The pronotum features a longitudinal band-like structure on the posterior and lateral margins. The scutellum is paler at the base with a narrow central line. The hemelytra, or forewings, are ochraceous. The elongated membrane between the wings has longitudinal veins, forming s-shaped cells. The fore leg has one claw, while the mid and hind legs have two claws each.
Habitat & Distribution in Bangladesh:
They live in deeper water with or without aquatic vegetation, clinging to some support, with the tip of the abdomen in contact with the surface films. Found in Dhaka city.
